The feedlot is equipped with modern feed mixing equipment and cattle handling facilities.  The feed comprises of Grainfields produced yellow maize, grass bales and silage.  Over the last couple of years the price of maize has increased substantially and this has placed pressure on feedlot margins.  We maintain a very stringent management protocol at the feedlot in order to ensure that we remain competitive in this division.  Within the context of a typical Highveld farming operation, the feedlot forms a very important component of the business as a whole.  It also act as supplier of beef to the Foods division.
